Senior Juniors Competition

Saturday evening prior to BIS at the Evelyn Kenny shows, Sue Rempel thought she was going to judge Best Overall Junior. She didn't realize it was the participants from 1973!!!

Cathy French compiled the photo (at right) and all the judges on the panel wanted one because they were laughing so hard at the ad libbing by "Juniors" David Gignac, Doug Belter, David Hamilton, Shaunna Bernardin, Ray Yurick and Shannon Scheer, who all had to sign the photo and put their birthdates on it.

Sue started to cry and said that they had just given her a reason to stay in the dog game a bit longer. Michele Billings was upset that she had gone back to her hotel and missed all the excitement, so she got the "Juniors" to autograph a photo for her too.

During the competition, Shaunna bribed Sue with a Visa card and $50 and had a 14-year-old toy poodle that Sue bred. When Sue put Shaunna to the front of the line for first, David Gignac took off for the first place sign. Then Shannon dragged her golden puppy to the sign, kicked the sign over and stomped out of the ring because she didn't win.

Everyone had a table dog except Shannon so she got her sister Alana to come in the ring and lift the golden onto the table for her. David Hamilton decided to get on the table himself.

Quite the fun time. The Juniors waiting to go in for the actual judging just stood there with their jaws on the ground!!!
